Host Families
Become a host family for the Easter Festival
Do you like to see international traditional dance? Would you like to add two foreign dancers or musicians to your family for five days? Do you still have a room available from Thursday evening 28 March to Tuesday 2 April at the latest? Then read on quickly!
Leuven Easter Festival
The Leuven Easter Festival (Paasfeesten) is a four-day celebration with performances, a ball, a parade and international get-togethers. For this, the Leuven folk art groups welcome dancers and musicians from Germany, Estonia, Spain and the Czech Republic. We are looking for families willing to host them, so they get a full taste of our culture and hospitality.
Host family
As a host family, you give two or more international guests a place in your household for five days. You provide a place to sleep, a bath/shower and meals. We also count on you for daily transport to and from Leuven. Furthermore, you mainly choose how much time you can spare. All activities are free and on Saturday we offer a thank-you dinner. Are you already itching? Fill in the form quickly!
Do you still have some questions or doubts? Be sure to share them with us at onthaal@paasfeestleuven.be.
Below is a general programme so you can get a better idea of the festival.
Programme
On Thursday, guests will arrive at a central location in the evening. You pick them up, they set up in their rooms and you get to know each other at supper.
Friday is rehearsal day. In the morning, you bring the guests to the Rijschool in Leuven and in the evening you can pick them up again to have dinner together. This way, working host parents do not have to apply for leave.
On Saturday, there is a parade in Leuven, followed by a drink at the town hall.
In the evening, we offer the host families a buffet with performances and dancing.
After the celebration of mass on Sunday, guests often head to Brussels or Antwerp for an outing. For this we provide a guide, host families are welcome. In the evening, several host families get together for a social evening. They eat together, make music, dance and talk.
On Monday afternoon there is a big performance where you are very welcome. Some groups leave home after it, others stay until Tuesday morning.
